The three things I personally love most are the love story, the modelling, and geekiness. I found a book that fits with each of those three things, so you can pick which aspect you liked best to find yourself a new read! Girl Online series - Zoe SuggSYNOPSIS: I had no idea GirlOnline would take off the way it has - I can't believe I now have 5432 followers, thanks so much! - and the thought of opening up to you all about this is terrifying, but here goes... Penny has a secret. Under the alias GirlOnline, she blogs about school dramas, boys, her mad, whirlwind family - and the panic attacks she's suffered from lately. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets the gorgeous, guitar-strumming Noah. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog. But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever. In Girl Online, the main character herself is not a singer. Her boyfriend, however, is a famous singer, which allows Penny to give us a look into his world! Girl Online is a must-read for every Geek Girl fan, as it has the same fast pace, some small mysteries to be solved by the main character and the reader, and, of course, a cute love interest! Dramarama - E. LockhartSYNOPSIS: Two theater-mad, self-invented fabulositon Ohio teenagers. One boy, one girl. One gay, one straight. One black, one white. And SUMMER DRAMA CAMP. It's a season of hormones, gold lame, hissy fits, jazz hands, song and dance, true love, and unitards that will determine their future --and test their friendship. Dramarama is about a drama camp, so rather than modelling it is about acting. Harriet has some very strong friendship, and if you like the friendship drama, this book is full of that too! This book is a bit less innocent than Geek Girl, but still fine for the same audience. Dramarama is full of drama, not just in acting but also in friendship drama! SYNOPSIS: Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan... But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving. Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere. Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to. Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words... And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone. For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories? And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind? I love Fangirl! This last recommendation is related to being nerdy. If you loved the nerdy aspect of Geek Girl, then this will be great for you. Cath is a different type of nerd than Harriet, in that she's a fandom nerd rather than an information nerd. Fangirl is also for slightly older people than Geek Girl, but I loved both, so that doesn't need to matter! I hope you enjoyed this Read Alike!
